After a ridiculous day at work, thanks to an exercise, I finally stumbled into the house. As my tradition goes, I grab a Miller out of the fridge, and head down to the computer to check my email. This led to me being the first to AIM Sarah at OmahaNightLive.com and consequently winning a pair of tickets to go see the VIOLENT FEMMES tonight at STIR located in Harrah's Casino.

Last time I saw the Violent Femmes was in New Orleans at the Jazz Festival in 1995, way before Katrina, a year before my high school graduation, six years before my college graduation, before I met my first true love, before I rode motorcycles and flew airplanes.... I think back and shake my head at where my life is now, since the last time I saw these guys. I'm completely ecstatic! I'm sure we'll get there early to gamble a bit...;-)

Also, I have found some sort of personal motivation in my quest for awareness concerning Sudan and other African countries. People have been so responsive, many not knowing about the situtation, although it's been going on for a long time. But this was the whole point, awareness, and it makes me glad to know that people care, and I've seen humanitarian sides come out of people I never would've have expected. It's humbling and awesome! In the near future, some friends and I will be planning a charity event/fundraiser for this cause. Be on the lookout!

Besides all that, my mom finished her 3 week stay with me, Tommy was here, we finished the bathroom, some of my friends that I care for very much found a bit of extra happiness in their lives, I'm going back to a language class starting Monday ( I love school...ha!)....

and of course, to top it off... I met some friends and my baby NINJA got her first good ride in a long time. She hasn't been wo-'man handled' like that in a long time... hehehe... although the ride was too short (could be because of speed), it was much needed after a long week.
